11.04 on the Samsung NC10
I have recently upgraded to 11.04 from the 10.10 Netbook Edition. I clicked the distribution upgrade button located on the Update Manager and it installed without any problems.
The Unity interface is now the default selection so there is no longer a ‘Netbook Edition’. The launcher bar is greatly improved; it is no longer sluggish. It also auto-hides when not in use allowing greater screen real estate, which is at a premium on the NC10.
Although the NC10 is an old machine now, it is still proving to be useful. Ubuntu keeps getting better and the NC10 still meets the minimum system requirements.
I’m using Bios: 11CA available from the Samsung Website.

Don’t you think it is sluggish now? I updated mine nc10 to 11.04 and it has become almost unusably slow. Have you done something to keep your system light?

Strange… For me, 11.04 runs considerably faster than 10.10. I have not tweaked, the NC10 easily meets the minimum system requirements for this OS

I’ve had the same sluggishness issues… can’t quite work out why. Even with unity 2d it seems slow

I am also running 11.04 on NC10. However, it is very slow with a lot of applications. The wireless and wired connections can not be used at the same time.
Help me….
